"At StopBrexit Ltd we feel very strongly that this Peoples Vote must include an option to cancel Brexit altogether and Remain as full members of the European Union .."

A "People's Vote"?

Didn't they have one of those a couple of years ago, the result of which was that the majority of people voting said they wanted out?
I could've sworn they did.

So, if they had this second vote, and the Remain vote prevailed, would this then require a "best of three" situation, or would the Remainers proclaim that "the people have SPOKEN!" ?

Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
just keep on voting until you get your own way?

the decision to have a vote was based on the arrogant view that it was a forgone conclusion to clear the ground.

.politicians so out of touch sorted that one..

it will end up a case of "as you were" in all but name ..after all the bullshit..

Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
As disgusting as the fate inflicted on us by the ignorant and racist British public will be, this is just a waste of energy and they need to just accept that peasant power won that battle and no amount of protesting can undo it. Same goes for the group of lemons outside parliament every day. If they'd been as active prior to the vote it might not have happened.

Regardless of which side of the vote you are, this has all been pretty devisive and entirely counter productive.

Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
I was disappointed the UK voted to leave the EU but you have to respect the result.

These things piss me off as its odds on the same left wing types who will go, the same ones who would be up in arms and outraged that the result wasn’t being respected had they won the vote to stay in the EU and leave campaigners had a march.

Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
I'm looking in from the outside on this one, it looks a fucking shambles.

A yes/no referendum on such important issues which could have serious repercussions for decades should be debated in Parliament.

Thatcher quoting Atlee on referendums

" A device of dictators and demagogues”,

Sydney_Iron 5:20 Sun Jun 17
Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
I agree with you 67 to a point, and IMO, this should never have gone to a referendum, after isn't this why we elect people to represent us?

Thing is though, we did have one, so like it or not the result should be respected.

Think its a real shame the UK is leaving, and will have ramifications for years if not generations to come, but whats more important in the long run? Respecting democracy is in my humble.......

It isn't.

Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
Tens of thousands of our forefathers sacrificed their lives so we can live in a democratic society.
Regardless of personal beliefs the majority voted to leave.
Why can't people respect the fair vote and shut the fuck up.

Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
Result not vote. All this nonsense makes my blood boil.having just read through the whole thread Johnson's bang on.
Our current Prime minister is a whimp.
The people have voted out,end of.
She should definately not be bullied by "bureaucrats" (who incidently ain't elected by anyone, nothing more than golfing buddy types)she should tell the Eu to fuck off,We'll do things how we see fit.
It wouldn't surprise me if others followed suit.

Sven Roeder 8:24 Sun Jun 17
Re: Peoples vote, stop brexit march
The people voted to leave so so be it.
People are also entitled to protest / march / do what they want but they have to accept that the ship has sailed.
What would be more useful is trying to assist this pitiful incompetent collection of buffoons known as the government get the best deal.
As they are floundering

Might also be useful for young people who didn’t vote and are now whining to be given some education that LIKING on social media and general other pointless behaviours mean nothing if you don’t get off your fat arse.
You spotty foetuses
